Fred West killed himself shortly after he confessed to the police to almost 30 murders in 1995. Rose West was found guilty of just 10 murders, among which included her stepdaughter Charmaine West.

But her crimes did not end there, she was also found guilty of having murdered her eldest daughter Heather, 16, and stepdaughter Charmaine, 8. The couple had conducted this gruesome affair at their home the “House of Horrors” at 25 Cromwell Street, Gloucester.

The disappearance of Mary Bastholm is still haunting the police, in relation to Rose West and her crimes. After more than a dozen years of being incarcerated, Rose is still under investigation as the authorities dig up the Clean Plate Café. Gloucestershire police believe that new evidence is bound to turn up.

The police are trying to find enough to give Mary’s family some closure, but Rose is still maintaining her protest of innocence. It is believed that Mary had been an initiation act of Rose into the whole affair. But even with such compelling evidence, Rose insists that Fred was responsible for it all.
